St. Willibrord’s Covenant

As an employed servant leader head of ministry, you are aware of the official teachings of the Catholic Church as laid down in the Catechism and the Magisterial texts and seek to live your life according to these and the teachings of Jesus in the Gospels.

You desire to live a fruitful Christian life animated by the Sacraments of the Church and to develop your own particular charisms given to you by  the Holy Spirit. Since St. Willibrord parish follows the Catholic liturgical year you will be working or volunteering on Sundays and Holy Days, namely all Christmas Masses and the liturgies of Holy Week and would organize your vacation time around these important celebrations.

As a head of a ministry you are held to a higher standard of virtuous conduct since you are guiding others in their relationship with Christ.  As such, you are to follow the Archdiocese of Montreal’s Responsible Pastoral Ministry Policy.

Lastly, it is important to take part in certain activities and ministries as a parishioner and volunteer that are not directly part of your Operations Ministry.

The employee will also seek to promote and uphold the values set forth by St. Willibrord parish. These are:

Humble excellence: We honour God and inspire others when we give our very best effort as well as build trust with the unchurched.

Outward Focused: The Church does not exist for herself but to carry out the mission Christ entrusted to her to “Go and make disciples of all nations.” So we reach out, invite and welcome everyone to a life giving relationship with Jesus Christ.

Servant Leadership: Through Baptism we are called and empowered to lead in the way Christ leads us; by putting our gifts and talents to use in service of others and out of love for them.

Authenticity: We believe that God loves us as we are, not who we think we need to be. Therefore being authentic ourselves is necessary to enjoy fruitfulness in our relationship with God and others.
